Market Place to return to Carlisle this Bank Holiday !!

Showcasing authentic flavours from around the world and bringing the opportunity to shop the unique into the heart of the City Centre. An experience not to be missed! Come join us this August Bank Holiday weekend as Market Place brings the ever-popular Global Village Market back to Carlisle City Centre. Over 30 traders from around the world will set up stall along English Street from Thursday 24th to Monday 28th August. The market will be open from 9am until 5.30pm Thursday to Saturday and from 10am until 5pm Sunday and Monday. I love Market Harborough Festival was a success!

Market Place, operator of the award winning Harborough Market, declared the fourth and last ‘I Love Market Harborough Festival’ the best one yet. The free event, organised by Sustainable Harborough, took place on the Market Square on Saturday 1 st July and saw 23 organisations from across the county come together to showcase their activities and importance to the local community. The Harborough Market stall displayed pictures of the market from last century, the old cattle market, the launch of the new indoor market in 1938 and copies of the pipe rolls from 1203 which list the payment of 3 marks to the crown for the right to hold the market. “Everyone really enjoyed looking at the old pictures and learning about the history of markets in their various guises throughout the town,” said Market Place and Harborough Market Manager, Sairah Butt. “We gave away free goodie bags containing fruit, sweets, badges and information and vouchers from the indoor market traders, which went down a tre...

Can Harborough’s Bakers Rise to the Occasion?

Are you baking obsessed? Think you’ve got enough cake-baking skills to challenge the great Mary Berry herself? Then Harborough Market has the ultimate foodie challenge for you. Harborough Market Operators, Market Place, are delighted to be hosting ‘The Great Market Harborough Bake Off’ at the town’s award winning indoor market. Home bakers in two categories, 12 to 16 and 17 and over, are invited to send in a picture of their family-sized cake , the recipe, and their contact details. Pitch for a Free Market Stall at Harborough Market

Harborough District Council is offering new food businesses the chance to test their business ideas for free at their award winning Harborough Indoor Market. Harborough Market, which is operated by Market Place, is participating in the high profile, Love Your Local Market Campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities. They are offering a 6-week rent free period in a bid to attract new traders to the hall and to promote the market as the ideal location for start-up businesses. Sairah Butt, Market Place and Harborough Market Manager said, “Many well-known brands started life on a market stall. Marie Curie is asking its supporters to hold fundraising ‘Blooming Great Tea Parties’ on the 23 rd to 25 th June.
