From Wednesday 5th April to Sunday 9th April 2017 Old Market Square and Long Row in Nottingham City Centre will once again be hosting the award-winning Continental Market. An array of Global treats from unusual arts and crafts to fine foods & delis to some amazing mouth-watering street foods.
Just some of the street food on offer will include The Greek Grill House bringing a range of Gyros plus filo spinach and feta cheese pies, Spanish trader Julian Jimenez Bella Paella cooking a range of fresh, authentic Paella the delicious recipe is Julian’s Great Grandmas family recipe, all the way from Cordoba. Julian is very passionate about his recipe and loves the fact his family traditions can be enjoyed across the globe and for the people of Nottingham. Minot a traditional Normandy creperie will be making those mouth-watering French crepes and savoury Gallettes each one lovingly made to order. You can sample some great exotic meats such as Crocodile, Kangaroo, Ostrich, Wild Boar, Venison and many more and closer to home but with a distinct Catalan flavour Sol Solet will be serving up some wonderful Catalonian delights.
The ever-popular Dutch Market Garden will be bringing an array of colourful flowers, bulbs, shrubs and beautiful plants, make sure to look out for the Dutch flowers on tour Lorry and give them a wave. There will also be a great variety of craft and gifts and fresh food from across the globe for shoppers to explore. Luis Cordova with his South American clothing, knitwear, jewellery, dream catchers and traditional musical instruments. Amber jewellery selected from the Baltic Sea to Russian dolls and Fair Trade wooden furniture and carvings all the way from Kenya.
Le Petit Gascon “the singing French bakers” provide welcomed entertainment when they break out into traditional French Street Music and with their demonstrations baking an enormous selection of French breads, viennoiserie and Savoury twists all made and baked fresh right in front of your eyes! Then there is our traditional German Salami House with such a huge selection the choice is so difficult but they all taste great. The best offer is the selection of salamis for £10.00 you will still be eating them at Christmas. We also have a traditional Breton Patisserie selling a great variety of gateaux, French Tarts, flavoured meringues, Breton Biscuits and Turkish Delight. Along with that exotic feel why not sample some of the great dried fruits and nuts or some of the different breads and olives from around the Mediteranean.
