The award winning Continental Market returns to Gallowtree and Humberstone Gate this Autumn

The Continental market is returning to Leicester from Wednesday 5th – Sunday 9thOctober with over fifty different traders from all over the world, bringing a huge range of Continental flavours, unique crafts and ideal gifts. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice as there is bound to be something for everyone at this family friendly event.

Foodies will be delighted to know the huge German Schwenkgrill is returning with their tasty Bratwurst and Currywurst sausages cooked fresh on a huge grill at the market. There will also be Mediterranean Tapas, French cheeses and charcuterie all imported from France, Belgian Chocolates, a huge range of olives and dried fruit as well as an authentic Thai noodle bar.

Local traders, The Cherry tree will be in Leicester city centre with a variety of jams, chutneys, preserves and curds, all locally sourced and produced.

It’s not all about food though as Market Place will be bringing a fantastic range of crafts and gifts from a number of countries such as Amber jewellery, sourced from the Baltic Sea, Bonsai trees, metal sculptures designed with real personalities, beautifully hand crafted Russian dolls and of course Dutch Flowers on Tour will be back with the popular variety of bulbs, plants, flowers and garden accessories, all the way from Holland.

Market Place Operations Manager, Chris Hulley is looking forward to returning to Leicester this October:
"This is our last time returning to Leicester in 2016 so we have had to bring a great selection of traders. We have some fantastic products with a real mix of foods, crafts and more. Gallowtree and Humberstone Gate will be packed with different cultures and a great atmosphere as always.”

The Continental Market will be in Leicester from:
Wednesday to Saturday - 09:00 to 18:00

Sunday - 10:00 to 17:00

Harborough District Council is offering new food businesses the chance to test their business ideas for free at their award winning Harborough Indoor Market. Harborough Market, which is operated by Market Place, is participating in the high profile, Love Your Local Market Campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities. They are offering a 6-week rent free period in a bid to attract new traders to the hall and to promote the market as the ideal location for start-up businesses.
