Business History - First established in 1999 with the production of Papas Original Ginger Wine. The recipe, passed down through 3 generations, was originally made only at Christmas time. This Artisan range has now been developed to include 7 great traditional flavours and are sold throughout the year.

About the business - Made by ourselves in Northern Ireland by traditional methods and ingredients, individually filled and finished by hand, this great tasting cordial range is available in an ever increasing number of retail outlets across N Ireland, ROI and GB. The very unique ͚clove͛ cordial has just won Gold in the 2016 Blas Nah Eireann Irish Food Awards

What are you looking forward to about the Christmas Market? - I am looking forward to the great increase in trade obviously that the market brings. But on top of this, the atmosphere and general feeling that ‘Christmas is on its way’ generally resonates with all traders, patrons, customers and visitors to the markets.  The buzz that the market creates around Belfast is apparent for all to see, and year upon year it gets busier and busier, which is testament to the effort and organisation of Market Place Europe.  I am a regular stall holder at the award winning St Georges Market, Belfast, and even the footfall increases dramatically there for the 5 weeks that the Continental Market is here.

Is there anything special you are bringing to the market? - In Belfast we are back with our heart warming Mulled Wine, made from our very own Spiced Winterberry Cordial

Quote from yourself about the Christmas Market and/or their business - No visit to Belfast at Christmas time is complete without a visit to the famous Christmas Continental Market, where young and old can experience the sights, sound and tastes of  many different cultures both local and further afield.

What a way to finish off the Year of Food and Drink NI 2016

They are offering a 6-week rent free period in a bid to attract new traders to the hall and to promote the market as the ideal location for start-up businesses. Sairah Butt, Market Place and Harborough Market Manager said, “Many well-known brands started life on a market stall. Getting started in business is not easy, especially in today’s economic climate, but markets can be a great way to launch a business with relatively low risk, whether it be in a fixed unit or a one day pop up stall.” Budding food business owners who want to bring a new product to the market are invited to send in a written pitch of no less than 500 words, detailing why they...
