Hanley to welcome back award winning Continental Market this October half term

The Continental market is returning to Tontine Square and upper market Square from Wednesday 19th – Saturday 22nd October with over thirty different traders from all over the world, bringing a huge array of tasty Continental flavours, unique crafts and ideal gifts.

Foodies will be delighted to be able to discover the very best culinary offerings from a number of countries including Belgian macaroons, Noodles from Thailand, French bakery, homemade cupcakes, Spanish paella, Italian olives and even South African burgers made from Ostrich, Impala, wild boar and crocodile!

It’s not all about food though as Market Place will be bringing a fantastic range of crafts and gifts from a number of countries such as metal sculptures designed in a huge range of characters. There will also be beautiful Swarovski Crystal, jewellery and figurines, hand crafted flower pot men, Italian silk scarves and more!

Market Place Operations Manager, Chris Hulley is looking forward to returning to Hanley this October:
"We are very excited about coming to Hanley for the 2nd time in 2016. We always get such a warm welcome and love offering local shoppers the opportunity to try something a little unique whether it be an exotic lunch or something a bit different for around the home. There will be plenty to explore so there is bound to be something for everyone at this family friendly event.”

Cllr Jack Brereton, cabinet member for regeneration and transport, said:
“It’s great to see the continental market coming back to the city centre. Events like this attract more people in to the city centre, which increases footfall and is good news for our businesses.”

From Wednesday 6 th - Sunday 10 th July, Market Place will be bringing a huge selection of traders from across the globe to Sheffield for a fantastic 6-day Global Village Market. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a great variety of tasty treats and unique crafts and gifts from all over the world! Along Fargate will be the Greek Grill House who along with business owner, Dimitrios will be offering the famous and extremely traditional flavours of Greece.
