Sauchiehall Street to become the tastiest street in Glasgow

Due to popular demand, the Global Village Market is back this September with more flavour and choice than ever! Market Place will be returning with a huge selection of traders from across the globe bringing a variety of tasty treats for hungry and adventurous shoppers!

From Wednesday 21st September – Sunday 25th September 2016 the centre of Glasgow will be home to Jimmy Bean with a great selection of over 50 coffee beans and tea leaves including Danish pastry, cookies and cream, vanilla nut fudge, orange brandy and many more! The Greek Grill House will be serving traditional Gyros meat skewers and moussaka as Big Pan Cuisine will be pleasing hungry shoppers with delicious chicken and potato Provençale and garlic mushrooms.

The huge German Schwenkgrill will be returning with the much sought after Bratwurst and Currywurst sausages whilst The Cheese Board will also be in Glasgow with a huge range of delicious cheeses sources from across the globe.

Local traders Threepwood Fayre will be here with traditional local confectionery including homemade Scottish chocolate, Clootie dumplings and even a chocolate fountain. Everything Chilli will also be in Glasgow serving their locally sourced chillis through a variety of products including preserves, chilli seasonings and scented candles.


There will be more than just delicious food though as Market Place will be bringing a range of beautiful and unique craft to Sauchiehall Street including Roan’s Art who has a number of fantastic characters all made from metal which are sure to make you smile. Sai Handicraft will be here with handmade Indian gemstones, crystals and even organic henna tattoos. Kiec Gardens will also be bringing some beautiful handmade wooden flower pot men, perfect for any garden.

Market Place Markets Manager, Matthew Hartwell is looking forward to returning to Glasgow this September:

Wednesday to Saturday 09:00 to 18:00
Sunday 10:00 to 17:00

From Wednesday 6 th - Sunday 10 th July, Market Place will be bringing a huge selection of traders from across the globe to Sheffield for a fantastic 6-day Global Village Market. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a great variety of tasty treats and unique crafts and gifts from all over the world! Along Fargate will be the Greek Grill House who along with business owner, Dimitrios will be offering the famous and extremely traditional flavours of Greece. After owning a busy restaurant in Zante, Dimitrios believes his tasty Greek foods are so popular because they take you back to your holiday as all ingredients from the Pitta Bread and flour used to the cooking methods are all traditional and authentic. Bringing the very best flavours, crafts and goodies, there is bound to be something for everyone at this family friendly event. Hungry shoppers will have plenty of culinary delicacies to choose from including authentic French cheeses, Spanish paella cooked to a traditional family recipe, Italian pizza cooked in a wood fire oven at the market, delicious Greek gyros, succulent hog roast and even Thai noodles! Why not test your taste buds by visiting the Wiltshire Chilli Farm with a range of products made from their own homegrown chillis including jams, sauces, salts, peppers and even chilli chocolates.
