Belfast's Buddy Scheme 2016

On 19th November 2016 Belfast City Hall will see the return of the award-winning Belfast Christmas Market. Now a major fixture in the build up to Christmas, we at Market Place are keen for as many people as possible to experience this unique festive event. However, we recognise that for some, the market can seem somewhat overwhelming at very busy times and can prove a challenge for some of our visitors.

Therefore, we are once again running our Buddy Scheme, an initiative that is designed to make a visit to the Belfast Christmas Market accessible to all.

Each year the popularity of the market grows and with this come bigger visitor numbers. We have identified between 10am and 12noon on Monday to Wednesday as the best visiting time for those with accessibility issue, when the market is a little quieter. Visitors and their buddies will have space to stroll around the market comfortably and avail of complimentary tea or coffee at the end of their visit. Market assistants will also be on hand to help with queries and directions. We also offer a limited number of free tours; please note that due to the popularity of the market early booking for tours is advised.

We are genuinely committed to making a positive contribution to communities we visit, in the spirit of inclusion, so if your organisation or community group could benefit from the Buddy Scheme we would be delighted to talk to you.

If you’d like to get in touch to find out more, book a tour or to talk about any special requirements you may have, please contact Emma at the Market Place office at emma@marketplaceeurope.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon.

Let's make this Christmas even more special for everyone.
