From Thursday 8th to Saturday 17th September 2016 Grey Street and Grainger Street will be bursting with flavours from across the globe as over 25 global traders will descend on Newcastle! From the same company that bring the Continental Christmas Market, there will be plenty to explore and definitely something for everyone whether you’re looking for that perfect dinner, light lunch, sweet treat or just something new to try!
Why not explore the very best of Thailand with some tasty noodles, try the ever popular Spanish churros, push your taste buds with a unique burger made from Ostrich, Impala, Crocodile and Wild Boar or even take home the best of France with some delicious French tarts and breads, baked fresh on site throughout the day!
“The City centre looks forward to welcoming back the popular Newcastle International Food Festival, as we are always pleased to greet events that add to our shoppers’ consumer experience.
The festival will enhance the market offer that is already available as Grainger Market has served people for over 180-years. Newcastle really knows how to deliver that international flavour with a variety of events from across the world that fill up our cultural calendar all year round, and makes Newcastle a wonderful must-visit tourist destination.”
Market Place friendly traders will be using the very best and fresh ingredients to prepare, cook and serve the very best culinary experience for shoppers who will be drawn to the market through the wonderful smells! From Mediterranean tapas and Spanish paella to Greek gyros and Polish beer, the International Food Festival is bound to bring a real buzz to the city centre.
Market Place Operations Manager, Chris Hulley is looking forward to returning to Newcastle this September:
"The International Food Festival is always a huge hit and our traders are looking forward to returning to show Newcastle the very best of their home countries! There will be so many great traders and flavours, there is bound to be something for everyone at this family friendly free event!”
