Glasgow Merchant City Festival 2016

Dates: 30th July to 7th August 2016 inclusive

Trading Times: 10.00 to 21:00 daily.

The Merchant City Festival 2016 will transform the City into an invigorating mix of art, entertainment and culture on the streets, spaces and stages across Glasgow. The Merchants City Festival is hugely popular and something everyone wants to be a part of, attracting around 95,000 people each year.

We have a fantastic selection of traders joining us for this event, who will be travelling from all across the globe to join in the celebrations! There will also be a range of local traders and businesses, bringing the very best of Scotland! 

Hungry visitors can explore what a number of countries have to offer including Greek Gyros, meat skewers and moussaka, Olives and Breads recommended by our friendly Italian traders, French Tarts baked fresh throughout the day and a huge Traditional GermaSchwenkgrill offering delicious Bratwurst and Currywurst sausages! 

There will be a lovely selection of continental and local crafts where shoppers can discover a range of beautiful and unique pieces such as South American Jewellery and Knitwear as well as Wooden furniture, carvings and figurines, all Fair Trade and ecologically sourced from Kenya and Bali.

Access to the Merchant City Festival will be free and non-ticketed.

Harborough District Council is offering new food businesses the chance to test their business ideas for free at their award winning Harborough Indoor Market. Harborough Market, which is operated by Market Place, is participating in the high profile, Love Your Local Market Campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities. They are offering a 6-week rent free period in a bid to attract new traders to the hall and to promote the market as the ideal location for start-up businesses.
