Market Place to bring Continental flavour to Leicester City Centre in time for Euro's

From Wednesday 8th – Sunday 12th June, Gallowtree Gate and Humberstone Gate will welcome over 35 different traders representing a variety of countries including Italy, Poland, France, Holland, Germany and more, bringing something for the whole family!

Just in time to celebrate all things European as the Euro Football tournament kicks off, why not come visit the countries being represented in Leicester and experience a variety of cultures first hand!

England will be represented by Greet Fruit and Veg with a delicious selection of freshly handpicked strawberries, grown locally. Greece will be represented by The Greek Grill House who has traditional Gyros, meat skewers, dips, Greek origin cheeses and Moussaka.
For Germany we have a huge Traditional German Schwenkgrill selling Bratwurst and Currywurst Sausages as shoppers can also try some tasty Welsh Rare Breed Hog Roast and famous homemade pork scratchings!

Up front for France will be Minot Markets who prepare their French Crepes and Galettes using traditional French methods. Italy will be characterised through a huge range of olives and Italian breads which can all be coolly washed down with some Polish beers in our beer tent.

The ever popular market-favourite Dutch Flowers on Tour will also be in Leicester showing off the very best of Holland with some fantastic bulbs, flowers, small trees and plenty of garden accessories including their new bird tables!

Market Place Market Manager, Matthew Hartwell is excited to return to Leicester for the second time this year:
"We always look forward to bringing a great event to Leicester and this will be extra special with the buzz around the Euro’s which fits so perfectly in with the Continental Market as we have some great traders representing the best of what their country has to offer!”

‘Head of Markets, Shaun Miles also expressed their excitement for the event to kick off:
“We are very pleased to be welcoming the Continental Market back to Leicester, which has now become a firm favourite with the city.  The cultural diversity of this great visiting market reflects that of our multinational city and we are keen to celebrate this.’

If you’re not sure about something, just ask our welcoming traders who will be happy to help. This will certainly be the place to be this June!
