Celebrate this Easter with authentic continental flavour

This March make a visit the returning International Market in Carlisle where there will be over 35 traders bringing the very best in tasty foods and unique craft from across the globe. Between Thursday 24th March and Easter Bank Holiday Monday 28th March 2016, Carlisle’s city center pedestrianised area will be bursting with flavour and a fantastic family friendly atmosphere, offering visitors the opportunity to visit a number of countries and try something different.

Just some of the tasty flavours which will be drawing in visitors to the International event include Catalan tapas, Greek gyros, a Traditional German Schwenkgrill selling Bratwurst and Currywurst Sausage, French crepes, a Thai noodle bar and even Ostrich burgers.

To revel Spanish Paella Day on 27th March, authentic Spanish traders Bella Paella will be in Carlisle, cooking a range of fresh and authentic Paella. Their delicious recipe is business owners, Julian’s family recipe, all the way from Cordoba. Julian is very passionate about his recipe and loves the fact his family traditions can be enjoyed across the globe!

Once you have filled up on all the International goodies, there will be an abundance of crafts and unique crafts including South American Jewellery and Knitwear, Italian Silk Scarves, Handmade Amber, crystal and gemstone jewellery and of course the famous Dutch Flower market, hosting a huge array of colourful flowers, bulbs, beautiful plants and more!

Market Place will also be celebrating Easter by hosting a free Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday for all visiting families. The Easter bunny will be joining us and helping the children find hidden eggs amongst the trader’s stalls for their chance to win a free chocolate egg!

On behalf of Market Place, our traders are also going to be donating £1,000 towards The Cumbria Community Foundation which we hope will help those affected by the recent floods and poor weather.

If you’re not sure about something, just ask one of our friendly traders who will be more than happy to help. It is definitely going to be the place to be!

Opening hours of the International Market are:
Thursday to Saturday: 09:00 to 17.30
Easter Sunday: 10:00 to 17:00
Bank Holiday Monday: 10:00 to 17:00
