Zombies, witches, ghosts and all things scary came to Harborough Market on Saturday 31st October

The market hall on Northampton Road was delighted to hold a children’s fancy dress competition and a best dressed stall competition, both of which were judged by the Chairman of Harborough District Council, Cllr Michael Rook.

The winner of the fancy dress competition was 7 year old Aisha Readhead who was awarded a new bike for her brilliant green witch costume. Runners up Kaleb Russell and Aria Judd received gift vouchers to spend at the market book stall with their respective costumes of a zombie and an evil clown.

And it wasn’t just the kids that got into the Halloween spirit. Stallholders decorated their stalls with all things spooky and some even dressed up too!

The prize for the best dressed stall went to Sue Birch of Sue’s Cheese, who put together a very detailed effort that featured spiders, webs, bats and pumpkins all over her stall, although a special mention went to Ellis Herbert on the Rebek e-cigarette stall who dressed up in a brilliant mummy costume.

Cllr Mike Rook said: “I was very pleased to be invited to judge the Halloween competitions at the Market. The standard of some of the fancy dress costumes was outstanding. Well done to all who entered and to the winners.”

Harborough Market is open 8am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and 9am to 3pm for the popular Sunday Antiques Market.
