Santa opens his Grotto Newcastle Christmas Market



The popular Grey Street Continental Christmas Market has returned to Newcastle and this year, it has a very special guest!


The popular market, which runs daily until Sunday 29th November on Grey Street and Grainger Street in the town centre, will feature a Santa’s Grotto this year, ran by staff and volunteers from St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth, Newcastle.


Santa will be welcoming families into his festive Grotto on Saturday 21st and 28thand Sunday 22nd and 29th November from 10am-4pm.


Entry to Santa’s Grotto costs £5 per child and includes a gift from Mr Claus himself, with all proceeds going to the Hospice. Accompanying grownups will also receive a gift – a St Oswald’s raffle ticket, giving them a chance to win a brand new Honda Jazz car!


The market offers a range of stalls with food from around Europe, giving shoppers the chance to try some tasty continental foods, including currywurst from Germany, waffles from Holland and paella from Spain.
