LEICESTER TO WELCOME BURST OF FLAVOUR TO CITY CENTRE




Market Place will be returning to Gallowtree and Humberstone this March for another celebration of Culture! From Wednesday 29th March – Sunday 2nd April 2017, Leicester will be playing host to over 40 different traders who have come from all over the world, bringing an array of tastes and unique crafts!


The Continental Market promises to be bigger and better with lots of exciting new traders but shoppers will be delighted to hear that some of their old favourites such the Traditional German Schwenkgrill which will be offering a number of Bratwurst and Currywurst sausages. Crepes Temptation who is also a popular choice with a range of authentic French crepes and Meats of the World will have a selection of exotic meats including Ostrich, Crocodile and Wild Boar! We have De Koperen Pan from Holland with her very old trailer dating back to, we understand, to the 1800’s selling a Dutch special pancake called Profitjes.

On the non food front for the children (even the adults) all the way from St Petersburg, Russia is Svetlana Nikandrova. Svetlana will be selling a fine arrangement of Russian Dolls, some of them real collector’s pieces’ worth hundreds of pounds. Also, we have Ronald Olarte from Germany. Ronald dresses as a full Red Indian and sells a range of products you have to see to understand from clothing to Jewellery to American Indian Music, precious stones and salt lamps.

Market Manager, Matthew Hartwell said "It is always a pleasure to return to Leicester and see customers from previous markets we've attended. There is a rich food culture in Leicester and it is fun to be able to interact once again with many, many different traders and sample their goods again."

Finishing off the food offer will be French Dried Sausage and Hams alongside a great range of German Salamis and Sausage, Fresh baked macaroons from Belgium, a wonderful selection of dried Fruits and Nuts and a great little Noodle Bar.

When you want to take the weight off your feet you can relax and unwind in our Continental Street Bar with a variety of Continental beers and wine, the perfect interlude to your unique shopping experience or it’s a great way to end your Global experience cheers.

Wednesday to Saturday 09:00 to 18:00

Sunday 10:00 to 17:00

Sheffield Global Village Market

From Wednesday 6 th - Sunday 10 th July, Market Place will be bringing a huge selection of traders from across the globe to Sheffield for a fantastic 6-day Global Village Market. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a great variety of tasty treats and unique crafts and gifts from all over the world! Along Fargate will be the Greek Grill House who along with business owner, Dimitrios will be offering the famous and extremely traditional flavours of Greece. After owning a busy restaurant in Zante, Dimitrios believes his tasty Greek foods are so popular because they take you back to your holiday as all ingredients from the Pitta Bread and flour used to the cooking methods are all traditional and authentic. Bringing the very best flavours, crafts and goodies, there is bound to be something for everyone at this family friendly event. Hungry shoppers will have plenty of culinary delicacies to choose from including authentic French cheeses, Spanish paella cooked to a traditional family recipe, Italian pizza cooked in a wood fire oven at the market, delicious Greek gyros, succulent hog roast and even Thai noodles! Why not test your taste buds by visiting the Wiltshire Chilli Farm with a range of products made from their own homegrown chillis including jams, sauces, salts, peppers and even chilli chocolates.
