Local Ilkley Festival to welcome delicious Continental flavour



From Friday 12th - Sunday 14th August, Market Place will be returning to Ilkley with a huge selection of traders from across the globe as part of the fantastic Festival. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a great variety of tasty treats and unique crafts and gifts from all over the world! 


The Grove will become home to a selection of tasty treats such as a range of homemade Indian Cooking Sauces and number of traditional Indian Foods including samosa’s, wraps and other spices. Market Place will also be presenting a huge German Schwenkgrill serving the ever popular Bratwurst and Currywurst. Traders will also be tempting adventurous visitors with French Crepes, Italian Olives and Breads as well as a range of products made using home-grown chillies such as chilli sauces, jams and even chocolate!

It’s not all about food though as Market Place will be bringing a fantastic range of crafts and gifts from a number of countries such as a selection of beautiful Bonsai trees, each carefully cared for by specialists. There will also be bespoke Jewellery, Bath bombs, wax melts, incense and creams in addition to some entertaining Metal sculptures, bringing real character to the market. 


Market Place Markets Manager, Matthew Hartwell is looking forward to return to Ilkley:

Friday and Saturday: 09:00 to Close
Sunday: 10:00 to 17:00

Harborough District Council is offering new food businesses the chance to test their business ideas for free at their award winning Harborough Indoor Market. Harborough Market, which is operated by Market Place, is participating in the high profile, Love Your Local Market Campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities. They are offering a 6-week rent free period in a bid to attract new traders to the hall and to promote the market as the ideal location for start-up businesses.
