We had some fantastic entrees for our Pitch Perfect competition this year but sadly there can only be 1 winner. After a lot of consideration, we have picked this year's winner... Radshore Ltd!
Trading since only February 2015, Radshore is a sustainable lifestyle-clothing brand founded by Amelia Downton, aged 20, a passionate surfer and poor skater based in Launceston, Cornwall.
Our products are sourced from sustainable manufacturers who use economically sound processes that minimise negative environmental impact, whilst conserving energy and natural resources.
The current range of clothing is focused on two specific product ranges. Short and long sleeve t-shirts are in our ‘Earth Positive’ range and are manufactured from 100% certified organic cotton. Sweaters in our ‘Salvage’ range are manufactured from recycled organic cotton blended with recycled polyester.
Radshores target market is huge including a younger generation who either surf or skate or if they can’t have appreciated the videos on social media and would like to! We are a generation that is looking for something that is radical, with Rad being used by those who find words like ‘cool’, ‘awesome’, ‘tight’ to be tired and boring.
Environmentalism used to manifest itself in garment manufacturing through a donation of percentage of sales to charity but now more and more consumers are aware of sustainable manufacturing for a wide range of products and expect it. In the past consumers expected to pay more for being environmentally friendly but the growth of sustainable manufacturing means that the price gap is closing rapidly and it will eventually become the norm.
Radshore garments are priced to sell, the premium for eco does not exist in the garment and my customers are either consciously environmentally friendly or subconsciously but regardless they are all brand aware. Brand development will not be hindered by any sweatshop legacy!
